A little bit closer

Hello!
The real-life business venture FibreActives is well on it's way to being a legitimate company. I suppose my first item for sale will be one of the 3 ottomans from The Ottoman Empire collection. I am really feeling good about getting the show on the road. I think it has the potential for great success!

The book of last week was, of course, the 7th Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. It needs no petty review by me, it was perfect.

The book of this week is The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri. This book really strikes a chord with me. I find its quiet, graceful, story-telling style is very soothing; and yet is also infinitely facinating. It provides an insight into the lives of people not so different from members of my own family.

Fine & Dandy

I've just found my calling in the form of adorable little 4in x 4in silk squares. Coasters that is! Sweet little coasters in bright, happy colors, ready to save your furniture from offensive drink rings. The best part? Well, they have hand drawn dandelions on them and the whole collection is called Fine & Dandy. Isn't that almost sweet enough to eat? Coming soon, matching Fine & Dandy place mats. Could it get any better than that? Well the answer is yes, because I found my camera cable which means that I can post pictures and descriptions so they can be sold. That's right folks, you can have your very own set of 4,6 or 8 hand dyed and drawn, silk, coasters and placemats.

How could I forget my second calling which take the shape of beautiful stationary. That's right, hand-decorated pages for writing letters to those people who mean the most. I got this idea while browsing The Getty gift shop where they sell (and I bought) some Itallian stationary. It was of course, hand-decorated and inspired me to come up with some pretty good ideas.

Finally, the Christmas card that some lucky person is getting this year, is more than just a card. It is coming from my all new, silk christmas-card line called Silk Stockings. Pictures soonish...
